Welcome to Dubai, an incomparable cricket destination. And I don't work for Dubai Tourism either. As soul-less as the city is, it is a colossus to behold, where little is done in half measures. There is enough to keep you here for a fortnight without the cricket getting in the way, but thankfully this great little game offers you one of the Dubai's few truly cultural distractions.

Fact: The Dubai International Stadium is lit by a special system of floodlights nick-named "Ring of Fire" with 350 lights fixed around the circumference of its round roof, and no light towers.

Living near Dubai Marina, the hotel will collect you from Dubai International Airport, no matter what time of night, and whisk you to Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort on our beautiful private beach near the base of the famed Palm Jumeirah, that smaller oasis of reclaimed land. This iconic hotel, one Dubai's original hotels, has a private beach, 5 swimming pools, 6 restaurants & bars, a water-sports centre and lots more to soak up during our 8 nights, just 10km from the cricket.

The 8-nights allows you to fly in for two nights before the Test, and stay on for one night after the Test. We will get you to the game each day and importantly back in time for 'de-brief and cocktails' in the lounge before hitting outstanding Barasti Beach.

This Experience deliberately leaves a lot of time up the sleeve for you to choose your preferred non-cricket excitement, so click here to research and book the adventures and thrills you seek. If you want to ascend the world's tallest building (for now), book your Burj Khalifa flights here. This sells out well in advance so once you know you're coming to Dubai, lock in your ticket.

**HOT TIP**: Do not do the popular and very over-rated desert safari and dinner thingy. 20 years ago it was 'different' as there was little else to do but now it's just a conveyor-like attraction. Pile into a jeep, drive up and down a few sand dunes, be entertained by crap music and an overweight belly-dancer, fight for first serves at the buffet, and then go home. But that's my 'experienced' opinion!!

By and large, we will make it up as we go along. Dubai is an outstanding city for entertainment and amazement and though we would prefer to play in Pakistan, you can't go wrong taking off for the Emirates and Dubai, especially if combined with cricket!!

If you are joining us for two Tests the 90mins drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi is included and will have you on our private beach by lunch, two full days before the first ball.
