Cricket in the West Indies

Welcome to the West Indies where there is no better place to start than the gourmet and plane-spotting capital of the Caribbean. This Tour will have you entertained for 4 cool nights on the world's smallest 'shared land-mass', a dependent island of France and The Netherlands, with daily flights from Paris and Amsterdam and why the island is St Martin and St Maarten.

Once you arrive in St Maarten (SXM) on flights you've booked yourself, we'll meet you at Princess Juliana International Airport (Dutch side) and take you back to the end of the runway and the incredible Sonesta Maho Beach Resort (pictured behind KLM above) where you will have 4 nights 'All-Inclusive'.

Aside from plane-spotting while sunning and rum-punching on Maho Beach, we will step out one night to the dynamic BBQ shacks of Grand Case in France, and a take day trip to Anguilla and Prickly Pear, to tick off another country!

The island is as split as any 2 nations. 'Holland' is filled with 'bling and brash' promoting casinos, clubs, hotels, restaurants, bars, and the watersport playground of Great Bay, whilst France takes you on a chic visit to Europe. Exquisite cafes, restaurants, boutique shopping, and a discreet society that takes pride in their culture and having more land than the Dutch.

When the two decided to share the island in 1648, a Frenchman and Dutchman stood back to back at 'Cupecoy Beach' and began walking in opposite directions around the island. When the two met face to face, the border was drawn between the two points, dividing the island. The Frenchman walked further earning France the larger land because, as folklore suggests, he drank wine as a thirst quencher whilst the Dutchman drank Gin; the higher alcohol inhibiting his ability to 'keep pace!' The Dutch simply accused the French of running! It's a good story if nothing else!

Although food & drink is included at our resort, you can still step out to indulge in the incredible duty-free in Phillipsburg (Dutch side), the culinary wizardry of Marigot (French side), deepen the all-over tan on Orient Beach (both sides), or visit Saba (Say-Bah), St Eustatius (Statia) or St Barthelemy (St Barts) to tick off 3 new countries!

From blow your hair back airline arrivals to nudist beaches, over-indulgent happy hours to sumptuous a-la-carte restaurants, from cafe au lait to Dutch language faux pas, St Martin/Maarten, C'est Lekker (It's good! I mean, really good!)! Mind you, English is spoken on the Dutch side with French still the first choice on the more European side of this delightful tiny island!
