Himachal Pradesh Cricket Assoc. Stadium Dharamsala quickly established itself as a top-shelf, must-see cricket ground along with Newlands, Lord's, and 'The G', and it is easy to see why. The snowcapped Dhauladhar Ranges backdropping this small ground in India's remote far north is spectacular.
Demand to watch cricket here means we have 4 hotels. It's not ideal to live separately but staying in one hotel will leave us buried in the forest, 45mins drive to the game. We don't want that, so we have 3-star hotels close to the game that we will enjoy together.

Hotels in this region are not sprawling resorts or giant towers. Most only have 15-30 rooms, with very few twin-bedded rooms. Before you start wondering which hotel you will be staying (we won't know until everyone has booked), the great news is we include local area taxis to use through the week.
These 6-12-seater vehicles are for you to share with each other. They're at your disposal to get to and from the game (if need be), to McCleod Ganj, Dharamsala Skyway, the wine-shop, post-office, pharmacy, our other hotels, the Dalai Lama*, or Kotwali Bazaar. Much of Dharamsala is uphill no matter which way you face and though walking the mountain is great for fitness, there may be times you don't want to fight gravity.
*We requested an audience with Mr. Lama but he is no longer receiving people due to age and fraility, unless (politically) necessary
'Local area taxi' means don't use them for a day trip to Pakistan. The vehicles are there to help everyone get around as there are no rickshaws in Dharamsala. If you see one, it's come down from McCleod Ganj, where most visitors stay.
Nonetheless, walking is why many come to this divine region, with hiking trails running through the mountains that frame the beautiful ground where we will be sitting in shade all day. At our pre-test match drinks party, we will let you know how best to reach the game, though a quick interweb search will show you the right path to walk.
Along with match tickets, we will get you from the airport for 8 nights in fresh mountain air. We include cool apparel, drinks parties, and after Australia goes 3-0 we will get you back to the airport for your flight to New Delhi after a soothing week at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, cricket's highest and 114th Test Cricket Ground.
