Visit Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is breathtaking no matter what the 'disturbance'.

Throughout Sri Lanka's decades-long civil war, the Australian Cricket Team toured (except '96) Sri Lanka without hindrance or harry.

So have we in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2010, 2011, 2015, 2016 and three times in 2022.

Visiting twice before the Australian Cricket Tour to Sri Lanka 2022 (after the dreaded, impossible to tour Pakistan!), to prove everything was all good to visit amidst the social and political unrest, it was still impossible to convince everyone that there was no threat.

It's unsurprising that people assume their safety based on the image of one burning bus, but you can't judge that the entire nation is on fire because of one bus. It's not. And Sri Lanka wasn't.

Those that did 'judge a book' in 2022 and decided not to tour, missed out.

All those that did tour agree.

None of the troubles plaguing global media affected tourists in Sri Lanka.

Protecting the tourist dollar was top of the list and every Sri Lankan knew it, which helped us to have the most amazing, quiet, and very peaceful time.
