AUSTRALIAN CRICKET TOUR TO THE WEST INDIES 2025 - TOUR PROGRAM

**THIS SAMPLE ITINERARY NO LONGER APPEARS ON OUR NAVIGATION. THIS IS AN ARCHIVED PAGE, THOUGH STILL RELEVANT AND USEFUL**

šŸŒ“šŸ¹**WEST INDIES 2025**šŸ¹šŸŒ“

When preparing an Australian Cricket Tour to the West IndiesĀ our fingers are always crossed to play in Antigua and Barbados, but what we want is rarely what we get. Australia last played Test Cricket inĀ Antigua 2008 and Barbados 2012 so it is time we returned. If only we had an influence on fixturing!

There has always been a correlation between where we play and how many people tour. If we donā€™t play in Cape Town, or Kolkata, or Galle, or Barbados (for e.g.) then fewer people tour. #Fact

ā€œDear West Indies Cricket,

If you invite Australia to play test cricket in Antigua, Barbados, St Lucia, St Kitts, St Vincent, or Grenada in 2025 you will see 1000+ Australians visit each island. If you invite Australia to play in Guyana, Trinidad, and Jamaica, you won't.

We hope to see you in our thousands in 2025.

With Love,

Australian Cricket Tours.ā€

Not knowing where we play until 6 months or less before the first ball doesnā€™t help, but we've created aĀ 3-Test Tour to showcase our favourite Caribbean. This 'example tour' is so you know what to expect when you choose to join us in the wonderful West Indies.

When planning, we consider hotels we have stayed before, but doesn't mean we will stay there again. New hotels open, old hotels close down, and quite frankly moods and people change. Notwithstanding it will been 10 years at since we toured the islands, and 17 years since we toured Antigua, so god knows what's still standing, especially post-C19.

When we do our pre-tour tour, we visit regular hotels and also all-inclusive resorts. There are many affordable 'all-inclusive' (drinks & food included) resorts across the Eastern Caribbean, but knowing we are at the game for up to 5-days and enjoy one or two day trips, you won't get full value, at face value.

One hotel can charge A$1000pp 'room only' for 8-nights, whereas the resort next door may charge A$800, all-inclusive. You miss lunch and drinks when we are at the cricket, but you still pay a lot less to receive a lot more on all other days. It comes down toĀ  pricing, availability, and how many we are welcoming, and why we sometimes include all-inclusive, sometimes not, and why we always do a pre-tour tour.

No matter which islands we play and which hotels we stay, we want you to receive excellent value for your time with us and we will do our best for you with the cricket fixture we are given, before, during, and after the game!

Our 'example tour program' is focussed on touring June 1 ā€“ July 12 for 3 test Matches, and 3 side trips to include, as we always, St Maarten / St Martin (SXM), the worldā€™s smallest shared landmass, and Anguilla! The dates do not reflect days of the week in 2025 that you might expect to play cricket. Dates are for illustration only.

Australian Cricket Tour To The West Indies 2025

Welcome To Stunning St Maarten & Alluring Anguilla

  • JuneĀ 10 - 17
  • Example Dates ONLY

With daily direct flights from Miami and San Juan, we may start our West Indies Tour on alluring Anguilla, whose capital is suavely named 'The Valley'. This beguiling British Overseas Territory is marginally north of our ever-favourite St Maarten (SXM), where we will go for 5 nights after time on this cool Caribbean rock.

(We may fly into SXM from where daily ferries operate to Anguilla, but we will nut it out closer the time. All that you need for this adventure will be included in your tour, except the flight from Australia / USA to St Maarten or Anguilla.)

An afternoon on the beach will help you wind-down after arriving from Australia, before enjoying a half-day road trip across the island on day 2, and a full day trip floating around the island on day 3. This little gem of a stop will open a new world of delight for a West Indies Cricket Tour that has been stuck in limbo for more than a decade.

After 3 nights, we cruise to the half-French/half-Dutch hamlet of St Maarten/St Martin. If you can't join us in Anguilla, you can start in St Maarten for 4 days on famous Maho Beach for a touch of incomparable plane spotting.

Save being petrified, drag yourself off Maho and jump on a bongo bus to the Dutch Capital, Phillipsburg. The incredibly affordable duty-free and free-spirited bars of this glitzy beach town wonā€™t disappoint nor will the vast promenade of Great Bay. For more laid back European chic, wander into the French capital Marigot forĀ cafe au lait, souffle, or glace,Ā and good views over the town and harbour from Fort St Louis.

One night at the BBQ shacks of French Grand Case is a must, and as we've already been to Anguilla, for something new we take a day trip to Saba with a flight to and from one of the world's most dangerous runways. 4 nights in SXM is never enough but leave we must for the first test in Antigua.

Welcome To Amazing Antigua

  • JuneĀ 17 - 25
  • 1st Test:Ā Antigua, JuneĀ 19 -Ā 23
  • Example Dates ONLY

Your flight to Antigua is included so you only need to get up on time and let our friendly SXM taxi driver Lorraine shuttle you to the airport in time for the short hop to St Johnā€™s.

The worldā€™s coolest bus driver, ā€˜Big Earlā€™, will drive us from VC Bird International Airport to Starfish Jolly Beach ResortĀ on the southwest coast, where we've lived before. When preparing West Indies 2021, Starfish Jolly Beach was open, but is currently closed for refurbishment. We'd love to stay here yet circumstance at the time means we may look elsewhere.

No matter where we stay, Big Earl will drive us to/fromĀ Sir Vivian Richards Cricket StadiumĀ each day, so you donā€™t have to worry about that unless you sleep in after too much rum punch at sunset after play.

Speaking of sunsets, the best in Antigua are seen from Shirley Heights where half the nation ascends on Sunday to celebrate the end of another week or a West Indies victory. Win or lose, we will go to the Heights, and if the game ends early we'll go to Barbuda for another classic day on the Caribbean Sea.

On Day 6 we can see Barbuda in the distance as our catamaran circumvents the island. This great day on the water is a perfect way to finish Awesome Antigua, before doing it again in Beautiful Barbados.

Welcome To Beautiful Barbados

  • JuneĀ 25 - July 3
  • 2nd Test:Ā Barbados,Ā JuneĀ 27 - July 1
  • Example Dates ONLY

Big Earl will drive us to Antigua's VC Bird Airport for our flight to the most popular Eastern Caribbean island. A big cool Bajan, Rooster, will drive us from Grantley Adams Airport to our hotel on Barbados' chic west coast.

In all the years past we have stayed in famous St Lawrence Gap, however in 2025 we will move to the west coast for new perspectives, adventure, and glorious sunsets. Our preferred hotel is not yet known but we do know plenty of unique bars, live music, quiet beaches, and overwater restaurants to keep us entertained each night.

While we work on the resort, one thing's for sure, Rooster will take us to/from famous Kensington Oval each day. We hope to have 5-days at ā€˜The Ovalā€™ but if the game ends early we'll drive around the island ticking the box on a few favouriteĀ rum shacks. If the test ends extra early you can tee-up onĀ 7 spectacular courses, includingĀ Green Monkey in the west coast's lavish Sandy Lane.

On Day 6, we have an all-inclusive sunset dinner cruise along the west coast on our last night, to make the most of every day in this incredible island. The next day, we lob over to vibrant St Vincent for 5 nights in the glorious Grenadines.

Welcome To Vibrant St Vincent

  • July 3 - 8
  • Example Dates ONLY

Rooster will return us to Grantley Adams for the non-stop-hop to Argyle International on St Vincentā€™s east coast. We last toured St Vincent in 2012 for 2 ODIā€™s at Arnos Vale, and our 6 grand nights left us longing to return. Now we can.

Friends Kim and Earl offer a unique airport transfer by boat to our beachy hotel on St Vincent Island's south west coast. Spare time can be exploring Kingstown (ā€˜city of archesā€™), Fort St Charlotte, or hiking waterfalls and forests of the interior, though for many, visiting Pirates of the Caribbean film locations such as the glistening sands of Tobago Cays is a must.

One day we will schooner our way to Union Island in the far south of this 32 island archipelago nation on the beautiful Friendship Rose for an 'arvo' atĀ Sparrowā€™s Beach Club. Snorkeling, swimming, or simply sunning on the whitest of white beaches (as seen in the films), on which we have a BBQ lunch.

Bottomless rum-punch for the ride home will make you thankful that tomorrow is a day off to laze on the beach. The following day we will do ā€˜Piratesā€™ to the north, along the stunning volcanic west coast.

Along with Union Island, we will have a day trip to Bequia (Bek-Way) and Mustique for dinner at one of the island's most popular beach restaurants. After 5 smooth nights, weā€™ll be zipped back across the waters to Argyle for the 30 mins flight north to Castries and much wanted 3rd Test at Beausejour.

Welcome To Sparkling St Lucia

  • JuneĀ 8 ā€“ July 15
  • 3rd Test:Ā St Lucia, July 10 - 14
  • Example Dates ONLY

Landing in the better of St Luciaā€™s two international airports, when arriving into George Charles Airport the views of the capital, Castries (11km south ofĀ Darren Sammy Cricket Ground),Ā from the right-hand side are spectacular, though brief.

We have 8 nights in a luscious resort on Reduit Beach at very popular Rodney Bay. Only 4km from the cricket, we will shuttle you to and from the game making St Lucia as deservedly relaxing as possible.

On Day 6 a catamaran will pick us up on Reduit beach and sail to St Luciaā€™s postcard geographic wonders and national symbol, the Pitons. Stopping in the French village of Soufriere for ā€˜refreshmentā€™, we lunch on Anse Chastanet and swim the afternoon away before another sunset sail home.

If the game ends early you can (as on any other island) tee-up on spectacular Sandals Country Club north of Rodney Bay. We will otherwise have an optional day trip through the island. If you are not joining us in St Kitts and flying home from St Lucia, you may fly from Hewanorra Airport in the far south.

If you have not seen the interior or east coast, allow time to stop on the 65km drive from Rodney Bay. There is a lot more spectacular West Indian scenery and views to enjoy before you leave for what could be another 10 or more years!

Welcome ToĀ Cool St Kitts

  • JulyĀ 15 - 21
  • Example Dates ONLY

One of our preferred ā€˜littleā€™ islands to play cricket, perfectly positioned between lovable St Maarten and awesome Antigua, any cricket here is a blessing. Warner Park in the heart of Basseterre is just 5km from our hotel on Frigate Bay, which is two bays on opposing sides of the isthmus. You won't arrive at the wrong side, as we drive you from the airport to the hotel.

We live and survive on the south side of the ā€˜stripā€™; the epi-centre of St Kittitian entertainment. Beach bars, restaurants, grills, music, fire, and sand along the strip is where we kick back after the Test Series for 5 nights, and a round-island road and rail trip! The Eastern Caribbeanā€™s only railway will be part of the journey to Brimstone Hill Fortress and the black sand beach of Dieppe.

It wouldnā€™t be an island trip without including a day on a catamaran also. We will sail south to the St Kittā€™s stunning sister isle of Nevis for lunch before sailing north for sunset off Brimstone Hill.

We would love to play Test cricket here and maybe we'll be surprised, as we were with Dominica in 2012 and 2015. Itā€™s a gorgeous island where in 1995 we met the Australian Cricket Team and were invited to their hotel for a rum-punch party. The rest, as we say, is why we help you enjoy Australian Cricket Tours to the West Indies and beyond today!
