With very great surprise and disappointment we share the news that we will not be hosting Ashes 2027.
The email from Cricket Australia Travel Office (CATO), without any reason given, reads:
"Following from our chat last month, we've discussed this internally and decided that we won't be offering Australian Cricket Tours the opportunity to apply to be a CATO Licensed Travel Operator for Ashes 2027."
At the request of Cricket Australia's CEO, we challenged this decision but we failed to even receive a reply.
After 31 years watching Australia play in every test nation they've competed (no one else has, and not even CATO host tours unless great profit can be made!), doing nothing more than help people enjoy the game around the world, we get kicked in the nuts.
Importantly, just because we are not hosting tours, does not mean there are 200+ less packages available. It just means the total number of packages that CATO make available is divided by one less tour operator.
We have not partnered with Jason 'Dizzy' Gillespie Sports and Travel, but having known Dizzy for more than 3 decades, he is a mate, and we are more than happy to support and see you travel with Diz before anyone else (pending availability!), especially not CATO.
