VICTORIA FALLS, ZIMBABWE
Victoria Falls is one of those geographic wonders you 'must visit' when in South Africa. It's a shame the falls are in Zambia, perhaps best seen from Zimbabwe, but experienced from both sides.
Thankfully Victoria Falls (VFA) is less than 2 hours flight from Johannesburg (JNB), with several airlines operating the route. You will need to book your own flights, on your preferred airline and clas of travel, to join us in this amazing region AFTER the 1st Test (TBC).
Day 1
Buy your KAZA UNIVISA before arriving!
On arrival into Vic Falls Airport (VFA), our friends at Kamba Travel will meet and greet us and drive us to Elephant Hills Golf Resort.
The rest of the afternoon is yours to play golf (only chance!), or visit Vic Falls Town.
You can wander a few hours, perhaps take in 'high tea' at famed Victoria Falls Hotel, or take photos from the bridge. You have your visa so there are no formalities if you want to get some good photos of the falls.
We leave the hotel at 7pm for the Boma Dinner and Drum evening.
Day 2
If you are an early riser, venture into town (4km) for sunrise over the falls, and return for breakfast.
After breakfast we go to Victoria Falls National Park where the paths wend along the escarpment for the famed 'misty' views you've come to see.
SINGLE ENTRY is included. Alas, you cannot come and go through the day, which, considering the US$58 charge, is a tad 'unfair'. Time in the Park is unguided, but you should only need 2-3hrs.
After time in the park, we have lunch at The Lookout Cafe | Wild Horizons, unless you choose to swim in Devil's Pool.
After lunch, we have a guided walking Bridge Tour, taking you underneath the famous structure across the Zambezi River and into Zambia, where we have a sunset cruise.
This 2 hour float on top of the falls includes drinks, snacks, and yawning hippos, and we'll be back to the hotel for dinner, and early to bed for an early start tomorrow.
DEVIL'S POOL | ZAMBIA
If you want to swim in Devil's Pool, the waterhole on the edge of Vic Falls, it is US$199 for the 'lunch' tour, hosted by Livingstone Island. The fully guided experience lasts approx. 2.5 hours. High Tea Tour is at 1530pm so you could be able to this on Day 1 if you wish.
Day 3
7am departure for Botswana and magnificent Chobe National Park, highlighted by a trip across the Kazungula Bridge, featuring the mid-river border points of Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
Chobe National Park is the place to only see the Big 4 (there are no rhino), along with countless African wildlife. It's a swift visit, but creates the uniqueness of visiting 3 countries in 3 days. We have a full day, including lunch, before returning to Vic Falls for dinner at the hotel.
Day 4
After breakfast we will get you back to the airport for your flight to Joburg. Depending on whether you fly Airlink, SAA, FastJet or CemAir, will determine your departure time from the hotel, but we'll let you know.
Whichever time you fly, we'll stop at the new Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium, developed for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027.
On arrival into Johannesburg, if you are joining us for the 2nd Test, we will transfer you to the hotel, to end what we trust was a brilliant time Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana.
