Cricket In Durban
If you love white-ball cricket, Australia and South Africa have played some epic games at Kingsmead Cricket Stadium (below) in the 30 years we have been travelling to South Africa. We trust the opening salvo on Sept 24 to be no different.

Fly into King Shaka International Airport on Sept 23, and we will meet you and transfer you to our very cool hotel in the very hip beach enclave of Umhlanga (Oomshlan-Ga) Rocks, where we have three nights.
After a good sleep in, on match day we will transfer you to Kingsmead on Sept 24 for the day-night affair, and back after play to celebrate what we trust will be Australia's first win.

Sept 25 is a free day to sleep in again, before flopping on the beach, lazing around the pool, or taking in the buzz of Umhlanga. The next day, Sept 26, we get you back to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg and the next two ODI's.

Cricket In Johannesburg
On arrival from Durban into our favourite city in South Africa, we will transfer you to the secure sanctuary of Melrose Arch, where Joburg's well-heeled shop for luxury cars and watches, and where we camp for 5 nights for the 2nd & 3rd ODI's.

If you are flying in from Australia, we will meet you at Joburg Airport and get you to beautiful Melrose, a precinct of high-end shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars, less than 10mins walk up the road to Mighty Wanderers Stadium (below).

With reserved seats at the game on Sept 27, you have the serious luxury of taking your time getting to the game for the 2pm (TBC) start, after which walking safely home to celebrate Australia going 2-0 up in the series!!

On Sept 28 & 29 it's time jump into 'Jozi' safely,. Stopping outside our hotel, we recommend the incredibly affordable City Sightseeing 'Hop-On Hop-Off' Bus Tours. through the purple streets of Johannesburg.

The bus will take you to Apartheid Museum, and Nelson Mandela Foundation, among other signature sights. They have separate bus to Soweto (South West Townships) for Mandela House Museum and Vilakasi Street, and also a splendid guided art-gallery tour.
The one day ticket is A$30, whereas the two day ticket is a A$80, plus entry to each attraction extra.

On match day, Sept 30, we will leave just after breakfast for the 90mins drive to our ever-favourite 'low-key' destination in South Africa, Potchefstroom (above), 120km SW of Joburg, and hope it is not rained out like the last time we went!

We will stop in Soweto on the way, to check out Vilakazi Street, before continuing to Potch for the 3rd ODI.
Lounging on the grass is best at this very relaxed venue, in this quaint univeristy town that we have been enjoying since the Australian Cricket Tour to South Africa 2002.

With the game done and won, we will get back to Joburg and tuck in for an early morning flight to Kruger National Park... if you are joining us there, or perhaps Zimbabwe (below), for which we are still waiting for a schedule.
If you are leaving us, Tally Ho, and thanks for touring!!!
