Thanks To Everyone That Registered For Ashes 2027.
With intense disappointment we share the news that we will not be hosting Ashes 2027.
The email from Cricket Australia Travel Office (CATO), without any given reason, reads:
"Following from our chat last month, we've discussed this internally and decided that we won't be offering Australian Cricket Tours the opportunity to apply to be a CATO Licensed Travel Operator for Ashes 2027."
At his request during the Darwin Test Match, we emailed Cricket Australia's CEO who promised to look into this decision but failed to even receive a reply. Speaking with Todd Greenberg in Durban recently, I reminded him about the email and he asked; "Did I get back to you?"
After 31 years watching Australia play in every test nation they've competed (no one else has, and not even CATO can be bothered touring most places!), doing nothing more than help people enjoy the game around the world, we get kicked in the nuts.
Because we are not hosting Ashes Tours, does not mean there are 200+ less packages available. It just means the total number of packages CATO make available is divided by one less tour operator.
We have not partnered with Jason 'Dizzy' Gillespie Sports and Travel, but having known Dizzy for more than 3 decades, he is a mate, and we are more than happy to support and see you travel with Diz before anyone else (pending availability!), especially not CATO.
Yours In Cricket,
Team ACT
