Australian Cricket Tour Sri Lanka 2025
After what will be a stunning Australian Cricket Tour to Sri Lanka 2025, we embark on another grand Journey to Jaffna following the 2nd Test.
The spectacularly raw Northern Province grabbed our attention in 2022 when we enjoyed two nights near the end of our Four Points Road Trip around Sri Lanka. We decided to come back for longer in 2025.
Though only spending three nights on the rugged pensinula and neighbouring islands, because we fly to Jaffna from Ratmalana Airforce Base, we earn a long half day sightseeing, rather than arriving late after a long drive,
Visiting the northern most point of Sri Lanka, Pedro Point, we embark on three busy days visiting signature sights within Jaffna City and outlying islands such as Karainagar, Kayts, and Delft.
We tick boxes on Fort Hammenhiel, Kankesanturai, Keerimalai Springs, and Nallur Kandaswamy Hindu Temple; just a few attractions on the peninsula.
Though seeing much, we also allow plenty of downtime by the pool at our cool hotel, and time for personal sightseeing through Jaffna City, which is something best done alone; i.e. not with 136 people on a tour bus.
Leaving Jaffna, we visit Sri Lanka's longest beach, and stop of quiet and lonely yet famed Elephant Pass Railway Station, civil war memorial, and memorial to national hero Gamini Kularatne who selflessly saved Sri Lanka from the LTTE.
One night in Anuradhapura and a whistle stop tour that includes the 'ancient tree of enlightenment', a 2300 years old fig tree, before we reach Negombo, north of the airport, for one night before you fly home.
And just as we get you from Colombo's Bandaranaike Airport, at the start of your Australian Cricket Tour To Sri Lanka 2025, we will return you to the airport as required after your night in Negombo.
